Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre has set up a trauma counselling cell (TCC) to provide psychological services to terror struck victims and their families, so that they can deal with the trauma in the aftermath of the Mumbai terror attacks

provide
psychological
services
to
terror
struck
victims
and
their
families,
so
that
they
can
deal
with
the
trauma
in
the
aftermath
of
the
Mumbai
terror
attacks.
Heading
the
TCC,
Dr.
Maya
Kirpalani
says,
“Special
intervention
is
recommended
for
those
involved
in
terrorist
combat
i.e.
army,
police
and
fire
brigade
personnel,
for
hotel
staff,
who
have
been
involved
in
this
physical
and
emotional
violence
as
well
as
to
the
citizens,
who
have
witnessed
all
this
violence
by
living
near
the
affected
areas
or
watching
it
on
their
television
sets.
In
this
centre,
we
will
focus
on
providing
trauma
counselling,
psychiatric
treatment,
social
support,
group
counselling
and
psycho
spiritual
interventions
to
heal
the
trauma,
teaching
resiliency
techniques
and
hold
peace
workshops.”
Jaslok
Hospital
has
invited
internationally
recognised
experts
like
Dr.
Rony
Berger
and
Dr.
Marc
Gelkopf
from
Israel,
specialists
in
dealing
with
psychological
preparation
for
and
aftermath
of
terrorism
and
other
major
disasters.
They
will
conduct
training
workshops.
